When we did our Album C-View of Kylie Minogue's Tension back in 2023, we talked about "Story" as one of the album's most quietly emotional moments - but we had no idea what it was actually about.
In her new Netflix documentary Kylie, Kylie revealed she was diagnosed with cancer for a second time in early 2021, a private battle she kept entirely to herself. "Story" was the song she wrote to mark that chapter - even hiding the truth in the lyrics: "I had a secret that I kept to myself / Turn another page, baby take the stage."
