[00:00:00] So in the following years after their split, the members embarked on various solo endeavors.
[00:00:09] So first with Paul, so after he departed a few years prior, he rejoined his high school metal band.
[00:00:15] He eventually would reunite a few years later with Joe and Bradley to perform as S Club 3 at various events. Yes, we love a little revival money. Love revival money. Yeah, so their post-S Club careers are interesting. I would like to delve more into Rachel's solo career, because I'm going to be honest, I don't know her albums that well, but I know many regard her as a really good pop star. All together though, regardless of Rachel's reputation,
[00:01:41] I don't think this whole group was full of stars.
[00:01:43] They're like a mega-zord.
[00:01:45] I agree.
[00:01:45] They're better altogether,
[00:01:47] and there's no tea, no shade. I wasn't behaving in any way that I wouldn't behave if I was home without cameras I'm not saying everyone has to be like that. But no matter how stressful I got I'm pretty much the same person I'm pretty consistent So regardless of her being on that show her behavior is inexcusable and regard it brings people to worse out people No, you bring the worst out in you And if you've always been like that it might heighten that part of you and reveal itself
[00:03:02] But it doesn't like suddenly make you a certain kind of person with a certain type of rhetoric
[00:04:13] not good. Not the Encore. Kind of like the Encore. All the S Club 3, S Club 4 performances. Not good. The footage, never great. And then they do more kind of later on, so we'll talk
[00:04:20] a bit more about that later. Yeah. Tina's what it was. That was not good. Sorry, let's be really here y'all. Fan or not, you got to be real.
[00:05:40] It was adults in need.
[00:05:41] They needed, oh my God.
[00:05:43] It was bad.
[00:05:44] It was rough.
[00:05:45] And I'm just disappointed with the performance.
[00:06:41] or like, you know, punch yourself in the throat. But like, is when you don't,
[00:06:43] when you do things that are detrimental
[00:06:45] to your throat health, that's what it sounded like.
[00:06:48] But yeah, I mean, she did what she could.
[00:06:49] Riley sounded good, thank God.
[00:06:51] Oh yeah, saved it.
[00:06:52] Tina doing her dance. Tina should have not tried.
[00:06:55] She is so pretty and she's so talented,
[00:06:57] but that was not the day to try to do that turn
[00:06:59] or whatever the hell she was doing.
[00:07:01] That was so upset.
[00:07:02] Me reading them does not mean I don't like them.
[00:07:04] It just means they showed up for work half dressed they obviously did sing live for the Queen, because you have to sing live for the Queen. And that actually sounded okay. And that was mostly just Bradley and Joe, right? Because don't stop hoovin'. But even with the tour performances, clearly there's post-processing. There was a lot of dubbing on Joe as well. So it wasn't a pure kind of live vocal recording.
[00:08:20] So I do wonder if they, yeah, I don't know.
[00:08:24] Maybe they've always just been kind of rough
[00:08:25] with the live vocals in general.
[00:08:27] Maybe, vocal fatigue and stuff like that. two seconds with Joe, Bradley and Tina continuing to perform as S Club 3. They even released a single, Family, even though there were less than that in 2017. And in 2020, Joe announced that she would be leaving to work on solo material. And Tina and Bradley recruited Stacey Franks from S Club Juniors to join the lineup and they performed as S Club All-Stars.
[00:09:43] Hey, and as we have kind of talked about a lot throughout this whole episode,
[00:10:41] getting back together and breaking up. And then I believe they had quite a messy breakup as well
[00:10:46] at one point.
[00:10:46] So that was kind of all over the tabloids as well.
[00:10:49] It's a shame, you know, it's just, they were young, right?
[00:10:52] It was like, so their twenties,
[00:10:53] they like all broke up as a group.
[00:10:55] It's just one of those things where I'm like, what happened?
[00:10:58] And it's like, did you waste money on this?
[00:11:00] You waste money on that?
[00:11:01] And it's like, not a matter of wasting.
[00:11:02] Cause I think with Paul, he had mentioned that
[00:11:05] some fiduciary issues had come up no you have to pay a fee every year. Yeah. From a house that I paid off. Like so yeah it's uh god it's rough. Yeah yeah. But you know they did I respect their um what's the word for it their get up and go their scrappiness that's the word because even though this man may have done you dirty you still were like you know what there's money to be made here I know the songs I know the dances
[00:12:21] and I could still do this.
[00:12:22] So them being able to kind of get back together work with the young girl from um juniors and I can make up lyrics for this random as instrumental we have in the book a song number One million three hundred whatever that was not good and they deserve so much better like it was really sweet 2017, right? Mm-hmm. I wrote a better song back then it was my first song I wrote a better song back then they should have called me when I was in that was like starting college They should have called me I've been there for them. But yeah, it's just it's just a bit odd because it doesn't sound anything
[00:13:44] Like any s Club stuff. It doesn't sound
[00:13:47] very It wasn't great. Oh yeah, I remember. How's it go? I will say Bradley was great. Stacy has a good voice as well. She sang a lot of the S Club Junior's leads as well. So she covered mostly everything that Joe did. Yeah, thank God. And they did throw in an S Club Junior song or two in there as well, which is nice.
[00:15:02] But yeah, there's a little sad for me actually to see the three of them like that at that show. So I was quite excited actually when in February, 2023, the rumors were swirling yet again. And all seven members of S-CUB 7 came together to announce that they would celebrate their
[00:16:21] 25th anniversary with the tour in October 2023. There were also a lot of tabloid reports saying that she was actually pushed out due to contract negotiation issues. She has not fully spoken on any of that. But given what we know about Simon Fuller and kind of everything that this group has
[00:17:40] dealt with in the past, this would not surprise me at all if she was pushing back a little
[00:17:45] bit on things.
[00:17:46] And he was just like, we don't need you. Which I think they've been doing yeah, I've seen some thumbnails here and there. I've had to watch anything I've seen some thumbnails here and there and I think they've done a graceful job of showing yes back So I appreciate that it's a yes situation for sure I agree It's really sad because watching the announcement and the press conference and everything that they had look at the time
[00:19:00] He was really excited about doing the show
[00:19:05] And and to perform again, so that's really
[00:20:03] But if this is the opportunity for them to provide for their now families, I'm pretty sure some of them have families, right?
[00:20:05] This is the way to do it.
[00:20:06] Just the timing is just really like it comes across as crass or like crude.
[00:20:12] But for the fans and for S Club's,
[00:20:16] I guess, peace in a way,
[00:20:18] they released a brand new single called These Are The Days in July,
[00:20:22] 2023.
[00:20:23] It was produced and written by two previous collaborators,
[00:20:25] Simon Ellis and Kathy Dennis. We love Kathy Dennis. You wrote the show. There's like there's a reason this didn't make the albums before I think um, I will say the video is cute like almost as a continuation from say goodbye It's like i'm all coming back together and reminiscing again revisiting everything The single is okay Like all the emotions aside all of the meaning behind it aside like if I didn't know anything about it And I just heard the song it's okay. I feel like the production could have been a little bit more
[00:22:43] new television series. That's hilarious.
[00:22:44] And with that, we are caught up on S Club 7.
[00:22:47] But before we wrap up, what do we
[00:22:49] hope is next for the group?
[00:22:51] Well, we know what's next for the group, but you know.
[00:22:54] Well, let's see how much this teasing actually
[00:22:56] you know what it actually results in.
[00:22:59] We did watch their Capital FM Jingle Bell
[00:23:02] ball set together.
[00:23:04] And I actually thought they did a decent job in it.
[00:23:06] Like it's gonna be a really good show And I'm excited to see them live like as a five especially after my last experience with all stars My experience by proxy wasn't great either I'm ever sitting there and be like what is done on Who had to edit the footage shoot for one of our reels for our socials? I'm so definitely be sure to follow us
[00:24:22] You oh, yeah, you see the cops on Earth Day, but yeah
[00:25:23] I legit only stole one line so don't cover me the comments, but hello
[00:25:29] Yeah, I will say if they do release new music and stuff I mean
[00:25:32] Yeah, you can call soon, but also
[00:25:35] like I Hope they have a good an hour behind them
[00:25:39] I will say Simon through the years has been less consistent in term with its acts in terms of the music itself
[00:25:48] Yeah put it in my thing when I was doing the notes, I scrolled down like, not this guy chick-ticking this too. That's what I've been doing. Yeah, I'm gonna be honest, we don't normally pick the same song ever, but this song is a very, very clear standout, I would say, in their back catalog. It speaks to, I think, our taste as well.
[00:27:03] I did kind of choose a few other ones at the time. I mean, I was going through, you know,
[00:27:05] I did pick out some of the more solo tracks, I agree. Yeah, the whole kind of garage influence thing is great. There's a nice vocal split here The course is kind of an interesting melody and just kind of interesting cadence that the way that they sing it. Yeah The little performance from the scene double film was also very fun with the clones Not the clones oh my gosh and they reference the clones and lyrics as well
