JADE brought That’s Showbiz, Baby! to Brooklyn Paramount in NYC, and we were there.
In this episode, Chris and Chantel Nicole recap JADE’s live show in New York - from the vocals and staging to the theatrical drama and crowd energy. We talk about how the songs from That’s Showbiz, Baby! translated on stage, standout moments from the setlist, and whether JADE fully stepped into her solo pop star era in front of a packed Brooklyn crowd.
How does the live production compare to the studio album? Did the encore moments hit? And most importantly - did she deliver?

00:00:00 --> 00:00:16 No more walls, just a few flowers. That's right. We attended Jade's tour. The That Showbiz Baby tour. We went to the Brooklyn Paramount show. That's right. In February 2026.
00:00:17 --> 00:00:34 Frank got bootleg merch. Not him. Me, though. Yes, you did. Great deal that you got there. I did. I did. Yes, so, of course, look, we reviewed both Jade's, you know, debut album, of course, and the encore edition as well. Of course, we went to the show.
00:00:34 --> 00:00:57 Can you imagine if you were like, oh, this album was great. Great scores, decent, you know, like, we just don't go. To be fair, it sold out quite quickly. Good for you, Jade. And we were on it, though. We were on it. We were in that queue from the beginning. Crazy, crazy, crazy. But I mean, it was a fun show. She deserves it. Such a fun show. Yes. Okay, so we went to Brooklyn Paramount. It was your first time at this venue. Yeah.
00:00:58 --> 00:01:24 Yes, I've never. OK, so I've heard about Brooklyn Paramount and I think Brooklyn Paramount in terms of like the stage is like, OK, because it's not high enough. So if you were in a crowd of people and people have their phones out, good luck. Almost like you're better off being in the back at that point or being like right at Barricade. So, I mean, it wasn't a terrible venue. What I will say is shout out to the Brooklyn Paramount for seeing the need for water cups and handing them out throughout the crowd.
00:01:24 --> 00:01:45 Can I just say I love that. I've never seen a venue do that. That was new to me. I was like, ooh, that's how you do it over here. That's how you do it over here. Okay, I like that. But yeah, I think they have a lot of like fun shows coming up too. They have like Hearts to Hearts, the K-pop group and then Mix. And Mix, yeah. Mm-hmm. Brandi's going there. So, I mean, it seems to be a great venue. I enjoyed the space. It was gorgeous.
00:01:45 --> 00:02:12 Just want a higher stage. Yes, I agree. The other good thing, though, about the venue is it does have a raised floor, like a sloped floor. So if you are in the back, it does help a little bit. But of course, we wanted to be close for Jade. Yes. So we did line up early. But, you know, these fans were ready. So we were still kind of blocked by quite a few arms. But at least when I could see, Jade was very close.
00:02:13 --> 00:02:37 Yeah, she was. Her pretty little self. She's so cute. And I will say the sound in Brooklyn Paramount is really good. Oh, my God. Yeah. I took my headphones, my earplugs, took my loops out, and I was thinking to myself, oh, hang on. There's a lot of mess in here. It's a good mix. Yeah, for sure. So out of all the standing venues in New York, Brooklyn Paramount's actually up there for me, I would say.
00:02:37 --> 00:03:04 I agree. Especially if you're not fighting for the front. The last few times that I went, so I've been lucky enough to be VIP. So, you know, I've been in like the balcony areas, but I've also just kind of stood in the back. Like when I went to see Flo, I just kind of stayed in the back. And, you know, you can still at least see the whole stage, you know, obviously you can't see the nuances of the facial expressions and stuff, but they did what they could. You know, we're getting older. I much prefer a seated venue.
00:03:05 --> 00:03:24 I'm in tears. In general. My thing is, I feel like it just takes away from the experience if you're trying to like not bump into someone. And so, you know, there's something about having seats and everyone being in their place. And if they leave their seat to go get a drink, you're not getting pushed. I don't like the...
00:03:25 --> 00:03:53 punch, punch, punch, punch, beat up kind of... I hate that, of the standing. Especially when you're waiting in line already standing, and then you have to go into a show and stand some more, and then you have to experience, like, not great behavior. That's my qualm. Yeah. That's my qualm. But, I mean, it depends. I think if... Who would I ever go see? No one. I don't think about it. There was no one I don't think I would ever count Val for anymore. I did that. Last time I did that was before the lockdown, so...
00:03:53 --> 00:04:17 Ooh, camp out for. Yeah, I've actually never done that overnight. I've definitely showed up like in the morning before. Morning time. Same, same morning time with the chair books. I had ski gear on and then my car was super close. I went to go get changed, you know, put my chair away. I came back and I was like the only time years ago, though. Now I'm just like, I'll get there when I get there.
00:04:18 --> 00:04:33 Yeah, for sure. But like we said, we did go up a few hours early for Jade. Yes. Yes. So first, Mr. DJ Adam Theo came out first. He did play a bunch of Little Mix songs, which I loved. He did, yeah. Which I appreciated. I had a lot of fun.
00:04:33 --> 00:04:57 Yes, he was very good. I can't think of like a bad moment in his set. I'm not trying to nitpick. Not at all. No transitions overall. Yeah. Yes. I respect his game, you know? And apparently he is pretty well known. I mean, he's worked with Cheryl. Yes. He's worked with Little Mix in the past. So it's not even like, who is this guy? Like, he's the guy. Yes. So shout out to the guy, Adam.
00:04:57 --> 00:05:20 Theo. Yes. Okay. Hang on. We were the only ones dancing, by the way. I feel like everyone was kind of really stiff. We were some of the only people like really getting it on. You know, this has been a common situation for us. Oh, yes. All right. Yeah. I will say, though, when the Little Nick songs came on, though, the fans showed up. Everyone was yelling power together.
00:05:21 --> 00:05:40 This is true, but my thing is, like, no matter what the demo is, I think we've noticed, even to Jessie Ware, we've gone to Kylie, we've gone to Melanie C, we've gone to Jade, and the crowds are always, always very different. They're diverse, or they come across as, like, the dancers and all those dancing. Yeah.
00:05:41 --> 00:06:04 And I was like bumping into this one girl. I was like, girl, if you were grinding, like I was grinding, the flows of our bodies would like compliment and we wouldn't bump into each other. It's like this. Yeah. You know, again, one of those things. I'm just like, girl, I'm so sorry, but I'm not going to stop. All right. So let's talk about the show. I guess overall thoughts. What did you think? How did Jade do?
00:06:05 --> 00:06:24 You know, it was very inspirational to watch my show. Because, like, the night before, I had gone see Twice. And Gio from Twice, star. Amazing. She's the fire in that group. Going to see Jade right after, I was like, oh, my gosh. I was, like, really geared up. Like, super inspirational. And she is wonderful. And she is wonderful.
00:06:24 --> 00:06:50 whoever she thinks she is. And I think that's so important. The show is really put, well put together from beginning to end. And I think the overarching like concept of it being like a show and it almost being like a, like, like a, how do you say? Not a commentary, but like it being a show with like the curtains and things like that. Like the way it was set up from the beginning all the way to the end, the voice announcer, the director,
00:06:50 --> 00:07:07 Yeah. The ringleader. Who is that? It's kind of like circus announcer situation. Yeah. It was interesting. Kind of announcing. And then Jade having that be the close. Have that voice be the closing voice. And it just kind of really camp and silly. Like a Saturday morning cartoon. And she's like, okay, I'm going. Bye.
00:07:07 --> 00:07:29 um she has a great sense of humor i think that's really important like she's not super stiff on stage and it it shows when she stopped to talk to everyone very personal all when she was performing very loose you know i think the 15 years of being with little mix definitely helped but when you're by yourself it's different and she is definitely like very well seasoned so yes overall overall
00:07:29 --> 00:07:52 Yes, great performer, very natural stage charisma. And I think, you know, we were kind of the later dates in the tour as well. So all the choreography, all this, all the staging of it is very lived in. So she doesn't have to think too much and she kind of kind of just enjoy it. But what I did love about being so close up is her facial expressions are so good. Yeah. She always does these little facial expressions. Yeah.
00:07:52 --> 00:08:18 that align with each song and with all the different lyrics and stuff. And that was fun to watch for sure. Yeah, even from the beginning, I thought FUNFN as the beginning was perfect. You know, the staging was relatively minimal for this show, but I appreciated that there was some live instrumentation happening with the band members. She got the two dancers and she had little props and stuff, but I think it was good that every song...
00:08:18 --> 00:08:31 Definitely felt like there was something special, at least for each song, whether that be lighting or if she put on something extra for the costuming or. Yeah, I thought I thought it was well thought out. The show's pacing was really good.
00:08:31 --> 00:08:58 That's what it is. It's well thought out. That is the exact word, I would say. Yeah, no. But yeah, I think FUFN, I thought when she was singing, she was singing in her head voice quite a bit, and I thought, oh my god, did she lose her voice? So as the show kept... As it progressed, rather, excuse me, I think when I heard her voice, I was like, okay, good. Her voice is still there, because Tori is a lot, and again, she's by herself doing it. She's not lip syncing. So I think... One song. One song, yes. Yes.
00:08:58 --> 00:09:15 Yeah, lip service. Yes, which is fine. I mean, she was doing a lot. It was. I kind of love clocking that, though, because I feel like I have a good ear for this type of stuff. You always kind of look at each other and go, lip, is it lip? It's lip. Okay. And you're like...
00:09:16 --> 00:09:45 Yes. Yeah. No tea, no shade. Lip syncing is very important, especially for the health of a singer. Honestly, if I had a chance to lip sync, here I am one day. If I ever get a chance to perform it, I am lipping that belt every time at the end of the song. I am not singing. You can do a Beyonce. You can just do the one note. Yep. Oh, well, they... You know, like, I'm not singing. Yes. Okay, so any highlights for you from across the set that jump out?
00:09:45 --> 00:10:08 I'm trying to think. It's so tough. Oh, oh. So in our album review, I was like, Glitch is my song. I love Glitch. The performance was sick. The strobing lights. And then like her fighting. Oh my. It was so good. Yes. I'm like. That made me like the song more. That performance. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Good. Good. Come over to the side. Good one. You know, I love fantasy.
00:10:08 --> 00:10:32 yeah um and this one was wearing yes the little jacket she was wearing was so good and we got this whole long outro and stuff that was so much fun um also i love plastic boxes vocoder version and she totally used that new that bridge that's only in the vocoder version she sang that part live and then again
00:10:32 --> 00:10:43 we got kind of a whole moment for that song too. So all of the extended stuff that was happening around these songs throughout the show was so good.
00:10:43 --> 00:11:04 Yes, I think so too. I'm like, I was like really impressed with the lighting for sure. I remember filming, I forgot what performance it was, but she had like a rainbow light and it flashed on the stage and it was freaking gorgeous. I was like, oh my gosh, I forgot what performance that was for. God. And it was just, it was, when it got to that point with the,
00:11:04 --> 00:11:21 Was it Clubland? Maybe not Clubland. When they got to that point where like Midnight Cowboy, Wasabi, Gossip, It Girl, and it was just so much going on. I just remember being like, possessed. I was like, yes! Oh my God! Yes, that was such a great climax to the show.
00:11:21 --> 00:11:50 Yeah, the pacing was really good on this one. Frozen, geez. Oh, my God. Like, of course, you've heard her performant on the shows in the UK and whatnot. But, like, the lights were off. And then what made it look extra cold and actually frozen was the smoke, was the white lighting. And, like, things like that is just so cool to me. I'm like, dude, that is so well thought out. So shout out to the set design because, like, y'all ate that up.
00:11:50 --> 00:12:08 So I think that was a good one for me. And then Natural Disaster, when she came back with that, her costumes. Oh my God, her costumes. So the first costume was like this dark galaxy thing with the pasties. And then we had second act, or whatever you want to call it, but she put a jacket on. It was like this big, giant, snuffleupagus costume.
00:12:08 --> 00:12:38 Silver situation. Yeah. Yes, silver situation. Yes. And then she changed into this very beautiful, off-the-shoulder, some Victorian, maybe, I don't know what century it was, but it looked like a curtain. And then, like, you know the little tassels on curtains? It was on the skirt of her dress. That giant yellow tassel. And I was like, I love. I live. I love. Because when she came out with Natural Disaster, she had, like, the cape, and she looked like...
00:12:38 --> 00:13:07 She looked crazy. But that's good. You're meant to look kind of like, you know, the song is giving like, not possessed, but it's giving like a horror film when I hear it, especially in the Amazon performance too. It just looks like it was just like, like tormented soul. I love that. But yeah, I love that costume. I think that was like my favorite costume. So when she was doing all of her, you know, dramatic reaches and oh, I was like, wow. The red is just such a striking color on her.
00:13:07 --> 00:13:08 and
00:13:09 --> 00:13:39 Oh my God, she tosses her head quite a bit. Her hair is over her face and she's singing. And I'm like, oh my God, it's so dramatic. But yeah, I think that whole section with the red dress is probably my favorite because of the drama, because of the arrows going through her body, because of the giant wings. I have so many pictures from that. I will send them to you so you can put it in store. We're going to put some, all the footage here for you guys to see. So obviously she had done the tour before the Encore edition had come out.
00:13:39 --> 00:14:03 out so we were curious you know what they would have added so they did play use me as one of the last songs before the show started so i love use me so i when i heard that of course we were excited but also like oh that means it's on the show right and i remember she said somebody said there was they're fuming at me because i'm not doing what did she say what song was it she said she's not doing houses yeah
00:14:03 --> 00:14:29 Yeah. She's like, I need some songs for the festival. I was like, girl, it's true, though. She can't do every single song, but it's great to know that she was able to do every song on the album. Yes, she did. Yes. But what she did add. So at the end of Frozen, we got a little this is what we dance for. Yeah. Moment before the Clubland medley happened. I will say I love that medley, but I was kind of hoping she'd throw in just like a random...
00:14:29 --> 00:14:54 you know, UK pop hit that maybe isn't as well known in the US, you know, just to kind of, you know, some girl loud or something in there just to kind of switch it or Kylie or something. Right. I mean, he named Nicola at one point. Like, come on, girl, what are you doing? Oh, by the way, her dancers doing that section, so fun. Oh, yeah. They were great. They were so good. So freaking good. And I love that, um...
00:14:54 --> 00:15:21 Angel of My Dreams intro that they did. No, no, that was before Silent Disco, no? Oh, that was before Church, wasn't it? So it was before Church, yes, before Church. Yeah, when they were dancing with the masks and using the original Eurovision song, I was like, that was really cool. They were really good, those two dancers. Yeah. They were so superb. Yes. I love to see tight dancers. I love to see the whole... I mean, you would think because it's such a small show that...
00:15:21 --> 00:15:48 that effort wouldn't be put forth. And maybe that's not fair to say, but a lot of people, we've seen some openers like the Danny Kane opener. She. Hmm. Hmm. I'll stop there. Cause you gave me that look. So lady Google was, was tough to watch. Oh no. Sorry. Oh no. Silent disco in the balcony. Oh my God. Yes. Yes. And the dancers were finished and.
00:15:48 --> 00:16:18 we were waiting in the dark and I was like, no music, no nothing? And then she appeared and I was like, okay. I did not know she did the balcony thing. I unfortunately got spoiled by that. Oh. Because that's the main footage that was going around. I did my best to avoid footage from the show, but I think because the balcony thing, it looks different in each venue as well. Yeah. So the only clips I saw of the show were people that were on the balcony. They're like, oh my God, she's right here singing silent disco. So I knew she would appear somewhere.
00:16:18 --> 00:16:36 Oh, I was just going to be an angel. Call my name. I didn't know. I was like, Juliet. Juliet. Juliet. Like, I was like, throw down something. Rapunzel. Throw down a check, girl. Throw down a check.
00:16:36 --> 00:16:54 I thought the show was so good. Like for a debut tour, you know, and it's great. I'm so happy for her that she's found success in America as well. Because as we all know, Little Mix never fully hit over here. Yeah, man. Not their fault at all.
00:16:54 --> 00:17:20 there um so it was awesome like even just in the beginning when like i think theo like his first song was touch and just hearing kind of it was funny because we were surrounded i think like half maybe little mix fans and the other half had no idea what was going on and i was like this is so interesting right like that these people like jade just got these fans just from being herself they're they're not they didn't come from little mix some of these people which is awesome
00:17:21 --> 00:17:48 amazing. I don't know how she did it. I'm like... It's good music. Yeah, it is. But Angel of My Dream is so British pop. You might get a little sad version from Billie Eilish. Billie's great, but You Should See Me in a Crown, that crunchy... It's still hyper-pop. It's crunchy, it's dark, bad guy with the ending, things like that. But it was this bright, strange, operatic...
00:17:48 --> 00:18:17 You know, I don't... I'm very surprised that so many people know it. Yeah. She deserves it. Yeah, we both know that. But it's still almost like, how? It's her time. At the end of the day, that's what it means. It is her freaking time. There's no other explanation. I don't... It's kismet, universe, God, whatever you want to call it. But she is owning it for sure. Yeah. For sure. She's so good. And I need her to do an arena tour so she can get strings and wire for Angel of My Dreams. Yeah.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:44 and a screen the screen yeah she deserves a screen yeah she deserves like all the production for sure yes yes yes and then yeah i think the biggest thing honestly i have no notes really i have no criticisms the whole show was great she really inspired me and okay guys so i sing if you don't know i mean most of y'all don't know if you're new here i do sing um if you like that theme song that's chantelle
00:18:45 --> 00:18:59 I don't sound great. I've been screaming at Twice concerts. Oh, yeah. By the way, I was not. I didn't scream at the Twice concert. Didn't scream at the Jade concert. Except for Angel of My Dreams. She did the Brit Award version. And nobody effing knew except...
00:19:00 --> 00:19:18 Some people, but definitely in our section, no one knew. Cause I was hitting that high note and people were like, why are you doing that? That's the note that she hits. That's right. I'm not doing it in this damn microphone, but yes, guys, I saw her wear her wings and I was like, I'm going to wear wings for my performance. Thank you so much. But see now my wings were kind of like getting ready to fall off, but yeah.
00:19:21 --> 00:19:48 Chris is at my performance. But yeah, that reaffirmed me. And I was like, you know what? Good. No notes. Because I also am going to be wearing a wig. I love it. But you know, she's amazing. And I don't have notes. And usually we're kind of like, oh, more to be desired. And it's like, no, I want a bigger venue for her. Yeah. And seats. And seats. Yes. Yes. And a meet and greet that wasn't at Rough Trade. No offense to Rough Trade, but like. Oh, yeah. Oh.
00:19:48 --> 00:20:14 I want to meet and greet like in the arena with a picture and like lounge service with the little fried popcorn chickens. Thank you. Yeah. But yes, Jade fans, y'all, do we even have a name yet? Are we angels? Are we dreamers? Oh, are we? Are we marionettes? What are we? I don't know. What was the faithful? Just.
00:20:14 --> 00:20:30 the whole church situation um and i'm thinking of the traders as well um i don't know i tried just googling it but i wrote jade fans and i just got photos of fans made of jade like the stone
00:20:32 --> 00:20:50 Well, if you are a Jade fan, please let us know if you want Jade fans. Honestly, she needs to pull that off, pull that one good time. Just Jade with Jade. Just kind of just be like... Yes, she needs you something with a stone. Yes. Just because.
00:20:51 --> 00:21:18 But yes, if you are a Jade fan, first of all, tell us how you found her. Tell us why you're a fan of Jade, because I'm really curious to know where people are finding them, especially some of the younger fans. Because I feel like a lot of the younger fans were either like listening to K-pop or I don't know. What the heck would y'all listen to anyway? Like, because on that time, I'm sorry. I just want to know. Because like, we didn't have K-pop girls. We didn't have pop girls, you know, like in the after Gaga, what happened? Yeah.
00:21:19 --> 00:21:46 I don't remember. Do you? Well, Ariana. I mean, girl group wise, it was literally just Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. Right. And we had Ariana. Sorry, Ariana. Yeah, we did. So we had her. Okay. Okay. She counts. She counts. Okay. But she's not quirky. This is what Ariana needs to do. I need quirky from her. Stop playing a safe baby girl. Give me quirky. But we're not talking about Ariana. Sorry. Anyway, if you are a Jade fan, tell us when you became a fan. Tell us if you went to any shows. If you did, how many? How many?
00:21:46 --> 00:22:02 Um, and if you did not listen, she's definitely going to come back around. So let us know what city you're from and, and, and what venues near there. So we can go there and go see her there too. Either way, let us know how you feel in the comments below. And don't forget you can message us on CCTV pops.
00:22:02 --> 00:22:30 at every single stinking social media. And you can join us at Patreon for in-depth conversations, live chats, and of course, who help us pick out episode topics. But yes, let us know how you guys feel about the angel of all of our dreams and the showbiz baby tour. All right? Until next time, that's Chris. That's Chantel. And we are CCTV, the nonstop pop show. Angels of my dreams. Oh. She's flying away, people.
