And we were on it, though. We were on it. We were in that queue from the beginning. Crazy, crazy, crazy. But I mean, it was a fun show. She deserves it. Such a fun show. Yes. Okay, so we went to Brooklyn Paramount. It was your first time at this venue. Yeah.

00:00:58 --> 00:01:24 Yes, I've never. OK, so I've heard about Brooklyn Paramount and I think Brooklyn Paramount in terms of like the stage is like, OK, because it's not high enough. So if you were in a crowd of people and people have their phones out, good luck. Almost like you're better off being in the back at that point or being like right at Barricade. So, I mean, it wasn't a terrible venue. What I will say is shout out to the Brooklyn Paramount for seeing the need for water cups and handing them out throughout the crowd.

00:01:24 --> 00:01:45 Can I just say I love that. I've never seen a venue do that. That was new to me. I was like, ooh, that's how you do it over here. That's how you do it over here. Okay, I like that. But yeah, I think they have a lot of like fun shows coming up too. They have like Hearts to Hearts, the K-pop group and then Mix. And Mix, yeah. Mm-hmm. Brandi's going there. So, I mean, it seems to be a great venue. I enjoyed the space. It was gorgeous.

00:01:45 --> 00:02:12 Just want a higher stage. Yes, I agree. The other good thing, though, about the venue is it does have a raised floor, like a sloped floor. So if you are in the back, it does help a little bit. But of course, we wanted to be close for Jade. Yes. So we did line up early. But, you know, these fans were ready. So we were still kind of blocked by quite a few arms. But at least when I could see, Jade was very close.

I took my headphones, my earplugs, took my loops out, and I was thinking to myself, oh, hang on. There's a lot of mess in here. It's a good mix. Yeah, for sure. So out of all the standing venues in New York, Brooklyn Paramount's actually up there for me, I would say.

So, you know, I've been in like the balcony areas, but I've also just kind of stood in the back. Like when I went to see Flo, I just kind of stayed in the back. And, you know, you can still at least see the whole stage, you know, obviously you can't see the nuances of the facial expressions and stuff, but they did what they could. You know, we're getting older. I much prefer a seated venue.

Last time I did that was before the lockdown, so...

Same, same morning time with the chair books. I had ski gear on and then my car was super close. I went to go get changed, you know, put my chair away. How did Jade do?

00:06:05 --> 00:06:24 You know, it was very inspirational to watch my show. Because, like, the night before, I had gone see Twice. And Gio from Twice, star. Amazing. She's the fire in that group. Going to see Jade right after, I was like, oh, my gosh. I was, like, really geared up. Like, super inspirational. And she is wonderful. And she is wonderful.

So all the choreography, all this, all the staging of it is very lived in. So she doesn't have to think too much and she kind of kind of just enjoy it. But what I did love about being so close up is her facial expressions are so good. Yeah. She always does these little facial expressions. Yeah.

Yeah, even from the beginning, I thought FUNFN as the beginning was perfect. You know, the staging was relatively minimal for this show, but I appreciated that there was some live instrumentation happening with the band members. She got the two dancers and she had little props and stuff, but I think it was good that every song...

00:08:18 --> 00:08:31 Definitely felt like there was something special, at least for each song, whether that be lighting or if she put on something extra for the costuming or. Yeah, I thought I thought it was well thought out. The show's pacing was really good.

But yeah, I think FUFN, I thought when she was singing, she was singing in her head voice quite a bit, and I thought, oh my god, did she lose her voice? So as the show kept... As it progressed, rather, excuse me, I think when I heard her voice, I was like, okay, good. Her voice is still there, because Tori is a lot, and again, she's by herself doing it. She's not lip syncing. So I think... One song. One song, yes. Yes.

You know, like, I'm not singing. Yes. Okay, so any highlights for you from across the set that jump out?

00:09:45 --> 00:10:08 I'm trying to think. It's so tough. Oh, oh. So in our album review, I was like, Glitch is my song. I love Glitch. The performance was sick. The strobing lights. And then like her fighting. Oh my. It was so good. Yes. I'm like. That made me like the song more. That performance. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Good. Good. Come over to the side. Good one. You know, I love fantasy.

I remember filming, I forgot what performance it was, but she had like a rainbow light and it flashed on the stage and it was freaking gorgeous. I was like, oh my gosh, I forgot what performance that was for. God. And it was just, it was, when it got to that point with the,

00:11:04 --> 00:11:21 Was it Clubland? Maybe not Clubland. When they got to that point where like Midnight Cowboy, Wasabi, Gossip, It Girl, and it was just so much going on. I just remember being like, possessed. I was like, yes! Oh my God! Yes, that was such a great climax to the show.

00:11:21 --> 00:11:50 Yeah, the pacing was really good on this one. Frozen, geez. Oh, my God. Like, of course, you've heard her performant on the shows in the UK and whatnot. But, like, the lights were off. And then what made it look extra cold and actually frozen was the smoke, was the white lighting. And, like, things like that is just so cool to me. I'm like, dude, that is so well thought out. So shout out to the set design because, like, y'all ate that up.

So the first costume was like this dark galaxy thing with the pasties. And then we had second act, or whatever you want to call it, but she put a jacket on. It was like this big, giant, snuffleupagus costume.

And then she changed into this very beautiful, off-the-shoulder, some Victorian, maybe, I don't know what century it was, but it looked like a curtain. Because when she came out with Natural Disaster, she had, like, the cape, and she looked like...

You're meant to look kind of like, you know, the song is giving like, not possessed, but it's giving like a horror film when I hear it, especially in the Amazon performance too. So when she was doing all of her, you know, dramatic reaches and oh, I was like, wow. The red is just such a striking color on her.

So obviously she had done the tour before the Encore edition had come out.
